All applicants, including OSU students, must upload a copy of their transcript for bachelor’s degree(s) conferred or pending and for any graduate or professional coursework or degrees. Submitting your application without transcripts will delay the review of your application. If you do not have a copy of your transcript(s), please obtain and upload these prior to finalizing your application. Please do not mail copies of your transcripts to the Graduate College. Beginning with the Fall 2024 semester, Oklahoma State University will no longer accept three-year bachelor’s degrees received in India as equivalent to the 4-year bachelor’s degrees received in the US. This is in accordance with updated AACARO EDGE (electronic database for global education) guidance. From Fall 2024 and beyond, to be eligible for a graduate program at OSU, applicants with degrees from India must have at minimum 1) a four-year bachelor’s degree OR 2) a master’s degree in addition to the three-year bachelor’s degree.
Each program determines its own admission requirements, and some include the submission of a test score such as GRE, GMAT, or MAT (Miller’s Analogy Test) as part of those requirements. The deadlines below are Graduate College deadlines for processing of applications. Please note that your Program of interest may have an earlier deadline, especially if assistantships are part of an admission offer; check with them to be sure. Domestic Application Deadlines For Graduate College processing, domestic applications must be complete and Program recommendations must be entered at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the semester of choice (i.e., Fall, Spring, or Summer). Applications completed after the deadline may be reviewed, but there is no guarantee. International Application Deadlines For Graduate College processing, international applications must be complete and Program recommendations must be entered no later than May 1 st for Fall admission, October 1 st for Spring admission, and February 1 st for Summer admission. Applications completed after the deadline may be reviewed, but there is no guarantee. To request this exception, contact the program you are applying for, with justification. Note that these deadlines, while normally sufficient, do not guarantee processing will be completed in time for admission to the semester of choice, especially given the delays that can occur in scheduling visa appointments in the various home countries. In cases where the semester of choice for admission cannot be achieved, applicants may request admission deferral. The most complete and up-to-date status of your submitted application can be viewed by logging into your account (click here) and viewing the checklist on your dashboard. Use this portal to check your application status (phone calls and emails to the Graduate College to check the status of your application will delay our processing of applications).
Returning to pre-COVID procedures, beginning with applicants for Spring 2023 and moving forward, admission deferrals may be granted only up to a maximum of one year, with program approval. If admitted students wish to defer for longer than one year, they will need to decline their admission offer and reapply at that time. Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis. Applicants may initiate deferral requests by following the instructions in the application portal.
